Speaking to Change Lives

A number of years ago I registered www.SpeakingToChangeLives.com  I created it because THAT is what I believe I am called to do. No, I’m not called to register a web domain; I am called to use the gifts and skills I have to make a difference in the lives of others. I enjoy speaking in such a way that my words can make a positive impact in the life of another person. I want to be like the writer of Proverbs who said “Hear; for I will speak of excellent things;” (Proverbs 8:6)

I believe that “death and life are in the power of the tongue.” The words we speak can hurt or help a person. I have done both. I am sure that you have done the same. The Bible tells us that “the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Prov. 12:18). My desire is to speak in such a way that my words bring healing and life to those who hear me. That may not mean much to you but that is the foundation of the “commitment that will scare the daylights out of” me that I wrote about on Wednesday.

I enjoy speaking. I am energized by speaking. If you were to invite me to speak I would be eager to do all that I can to speak for your church or company or event; wherever you need a guest speaker. Over 25 years ago when I was asked to join an international ministry one of my first questions was “How much will I be able to speak?” That wasn’t a question of pride; it was a question of passion. I am passionate about sharing the truth in a way that helps and encourages others.

I have been blessed to speak in quite a few places here in Georgia and in Florida, Tennessee, the Carolinas, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Michigan, California, Hawaii, Bermuda and a few other places. It has also been very fulfilling to have developed and written leadership training material that has been used here in the states and internationally.

In June, I had the opportunity to speak in a corporate setting. The event went so well that the organizers made the decision to double the fee they had budgeted to pay me for the event. I did not ask for any amount; I just agreed to speak for them and put my best effort into that event. They paid me well because I served them well. I am grateful for the positive feedback I receive when I speak. It is like a fire burning within me to continue to speak and to broaden the opportunities that I have to speak.

How do I do that? Well, I don’t have the “How” totally figured out so I just keep taking the steps that are before me. Each step I take leads me to the next step and progress is being made.

So here is a list of the “scary” big dreams and plans that I see on the horizon
      1. I will continue to minister in local churches.
I already have dates scheduled for this month and next. That’s with very few people knowing that I am available at this time. I anticipate my schedule filling as more people know of my availability.

      2.  I have seminars and leadership training for the corporate setting.
Larger companies often have the budget and the personnel to provide in house training. Smaller companies know they can benefit from providing motivation and training for their employees but they may not know how to best provide what they need. I want to be the answer to their need. I have several practical seminars already prepared and can create a customized session for a company to best meet their needs.

      3.   I am developing a special outreach event for Churches called “A Weekend of Wonder
I believe this event can be a real boost to the church leadership, the church family and the surrounding community. It will combine sleight of hand, illusions, and dynamic speaking to make a lasting impact in the lives of all who attend.

Friday Night will focus on the “Wonder of the Mind” with apparent demonstrations of mind reading and exceptional skills of perception. The program will communicate a powerful message that by changing our thinking we can change our lives.

Saturday Night will be a fun filled program for all age groups. We will get to the HEART of the matter when we focus on the matters of the HEART. A change of heart truly brings about a wonderful and lasting transformation.

Sunday Morning will be a time when we are challenged to change our world. Everyone will be challenged to use their gifts and abilities to make a difference in the lives of others. By doing that we can change the world for the better; one person at a time.

So there you have it, a few of the “scary” adventures I am planning and preparing to launch at this time. What do you think? What advice or insight can you share with me that will help me to move in the direction that I believe I need to go? I’d be happy to hear from you. Just write to me at Mike@SpeakingToChangeLives.com  Hey, I will also have my calendar at hand and I’d be thrilled to schedule a meeting at your church or for your company.

The only thing worse than trying something and not succeeding; would be to NOT try something and to succeed at that. I can’t do that!

Thanks for allowing me to share this with you.

I do hope I will meet you in person in the coming days or years as I will be out and about…..
Speaking to Change Lives,
Mike
