A "Nu Thang"

I am so happy you found me here at this blog. I have been out of touch for a while, as we have been relocating and retooling for the coming days. The relocation has gone very well! We are happy to be back in the Armuchee area and are blessed to be in a wonderful place. The retooling is an continuing process. I will be happy to share more information with you in the coming days.

I am in the process of preparing a newsletter to send out to many of our friends to update them on the new things we see for ourselves in the coming days. Here is the opening article from the newsletter.

"I suppose I’m an old guy to be quoting Toby Mac. Back in the day I had DC Talk cassettes, I must confess I still like his music. Some may wonder if it is music or just noise. What I like is the clear message of his lyrics! In 1990, DC Talk released an album entitled “Nu Thang”

The title song declared:

“My God is doin’ a brand nu thang
But since time began, He remains the same.
Faithful, forever to His word
And solid, a cornerstone unstirred.
Ya know He’s doin’ it
God is doing a nu thang
Ya know He’s doin’ it
God is doin’ a new thang.”

Well, this song certainly has Biblical roots. In Isaiah43:19 we read: Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

I am thankful the Lord does not always do the same thing in the same way. He is a God of “Newness” and there is coming a time when He will make “all things new” (Rev. 21:5). Between then and now He is still doing New Things and that is why I am writing to you.

For the better part of 31 years I have been involved in vocational ministry. I have enjoyed serving as a Youth Pastor, a Home Missionary, A Pastor, and a supply preacher. It appears that God is using all that we have experienced to lead us into some new avenues of life and ministry. I am excited to share some of our journey with you!

So, read on and see what’s new for us. I’ll also share some things that I hope will help you to see what “Nu Thangs” God may be working to bring about in your life.

Lamentations 3:21-23 (ESV)
But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Praise God, His mercies are “New every morning” and He is still doing New Things every day!"

I will share more of these "Nu Thangs" with you in upcoming posts.
